Bodybuilding device can't activate the muscles to the maximum. The present study aimed to build a turbine variable resistance device (TVRD) and compare the physiological pressure of leg extension resistance exercise in this device with a conventional resistance device (CRD). In addition to weight, water resistance against the movement of several turbines was used to build the TVRD. 12 active men (age) 28± 5.72 years) participated in this study. In two separate days they do resistance exercise (3 sets ×10 repetitions include complete cycle of concentric and eccentric contraction) with TVRD or with CRD. MVC and muscular pain perception (MPP) before and after resistance exercise and RPE at the end of each sets was record. During resistance exercise and frist MVC, EMG of superficial quadriceps muscles was recorded. RMS of the EMG and RPE during resistance exercise and changes in MVC and MPP before and after resistance exercises analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA and P <0.05 was considered as a significant change. RPE was significantly higher in TVRD exercise (p = 0.000). But in other variables, no significant difference was observed between the two exercises. (p˃0.05) Despite the lower resistance in the eccentric phase in TVRD, the RMS in whole two exercises did not differ significantly. This indicates that the physiological pressure was higher in the concentric phase in TVRD that higher RPE in the TVRD exercise confirms this. However, for this program to be more effective in the long run, additional research is needed.
