Researchers believe that supplements that reduce fatigue due to lactate accumulation are useful for improving the performance of futsal players. Therefore, in the present study, the immediate effect of high-carbohydrate and high-caffeine beverages on motor fitness (speed and coordination) and cognitive function in futsal players is investigated. The method of the present study is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The subjects of the study include 40 futsal players who are divided into four groups: 1) Carbohydrate supplement 2) Caffeine supplement 3) Carbohydrate and caffeine supplement 4) Control group (placebo). Subjects were given one dose of carbohydrates and caffeine each (6 ml per kg body weight) and a placebo was given to the subjects. Speed was assessed using the 36-meter sprint test and coordination with the shovel and shoot test. A modified version of the Continuous Performance Test (CPT) developed by the researcher for use in futsal players was also used to measure cognitive performance. The results showed that the carbohydrate and caffeine supplement group was superior to the other groups in speed and coordination. In terms of cognitive function, the combined group also achieved better results. Overall, the combination of carbohydrates and caffeine had a greater immediate effect on locomotor fitness and cognitive function than when consumed alone or in a placebo group. Conclusion: Supplementation as a combination of carbohydrate and caffeine supplementation 5 days before exercise will have a positive result in speed and coordination tests. It also provides the greatest improvement in cognitive function.
