Identifying the obstacles of handing over sports venues to the private sector (case study of Khuzestan province)

Abstract

Today, all the countries of the world attach special importance to the role and position of privatization in the sports sector. Therefore, the current research was conducted with the aim of identifying the obstacles of handing over sports venues to the private sector (case study of Khuzestan province). The research method was an interpretative paradigm and in terms of data collection, it was Q methodology, and in terms of the type of data used, it was mixed exploratory (qualitative-quantitative). Professors specializing in university sports management, heads of sports boards of the province, managers of private and public sports venues, in the number of 25 people, formed the statistical population of this research, which were selected in a purposeful way. the set of Q's phrases was identified and endorsed in 29 phrases. Visual and conceptual narrative Q phrases and charts confirmed by the experts. By analyzing the factors, six mental patterns: It included economic barriers, managerial barriers, cultural and social barriers, political barriers, organizational barriers, and legal barriers identified and discussed. Finally, it can be concluded that removing the obstacles of handing over sports facilities to the private sector has an effective role in the development of sports at all levels. It also creates employment and increases the productivity of sports facilities and equipment.
